Job summary

Communicate Finance seeks a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to design, build, and optimise scalable cloud environments across AWS and Azure. You will drive DevOps maturity, implement IaC with Terraform and CloudFormation, and advance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket Pipelines, and AWS CodePipeline.

You will lead Kubernetes and Docker efforts, enforce governance and FinOps practices, and collaborate with multiple teams to deliver reliable production environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.

• Lead containerisation and orchestration initiatives using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Establish and improve cloud governance, security, compliance, and FinOps best practices.
• Drive cloud transformation projects and contribute to enterprise platform strategy.
• Define operational processes, monitoring standards, SLAs, and platform reliability frameworks.
• Implement automation solutions that improve deployment efficiency and reduce operational overhead.
• Collaborate with engineering and technology teams to support scalable, resilient production environments.
• Identify opportunities for cloud cost optimisation and operational improvements.

As a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer, the successful candidate will play a key role in designing, building, and optimising modern cloud environments whilst driving DevOps maturity across the organisation.

Skills & Experience:

Extensive experience within Information Technology, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or related IT jobs.

• Proven experience designing, building, and scaling enterprise-grade cloud platforms
• Strong hands-on experience across both AWS and Azure environments
• Advanced Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation
• Strong CI/CD and automation experience across modern DevOps toolsets
• Practical production-level experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience implementing cloud governance, security, compliance, and cost management practices
• Demonstrated leadership experience driving cloud transformation initiatives and DevOps maturity
• Experience defining operational processes, service delivery standards, and SLAs
• Strong troubleshooting, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Certifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
