Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with a structural focus.
• ECSA Pr.Eng. professional registration.
• 8+ years in civil/structural engineering on large-scale projects.
• Expertise in SAP2000, ETABS and AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of SANS and building codes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural analysis and design for bridges, buildings, and transport systems.

About the Role

This role is pivotal in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of complex civil engineering projects, ensuring adherence to the highest industry standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed structural analysis and design for various infrastructure projects, including bridges, buildings, and transportation systems.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budgets, and timelines, and ensure their efficient execution.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, drawings, and reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering specialization preferred).
• Professional registration with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) as a Pr.Eng.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil and structural engineering, with a significant focus on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Proven expertise in structural design software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar.
• In-depth knowledge of South African National Standards (SANS) and relevant building codes.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical principles and their application in structural design.
• Excellent project management and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects from initiation to closure.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design software.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
