Job summary

Communicate Ct in Cape Town seeks an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead design and execution for renewable energy projects, coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

You will prepare designs, reports and documentation, conduct site assessments, and mentor junior engineers, using Civil 3D for modelling.

This role requires 7–10 years in civil engineering, knowledge of soil mechanics and hydraulics, and a valid driving licence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10 years of civil engineering experience, preferably in renewable energy.
• Experience in solar, wind and battery energy storage projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of soil mechanics, pavement design, hydraulics and stormwater management.
• Strong project management, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design and execution for renewable energy projects.
• Prepare engineering designs, technical reports and construction documentation.
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Manage project timelines, resources, budgets and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, legislation and environmental requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Use Civil 3D for civil engineering design and modelling.
