Communicate Finance is seeking a senior Civil Engineer to lead the design and execution of renewable energy projects in South Africa. The role involves preparing comprehensive designs, reports and construction documentation, along with collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

You will conduct site assessments, manage timelines and budgets, ensure regulatory and environmental compliance, and mentor junior engineers while working with Civil 3D for modelling and design work.

Qualifications

• A recognised engineering degree (BEng or BSc) in Civil Engineering.
• ECSA registration is advantageous but not required.

Job Description:

• Lead civil engineering design and execution for renewable energy projects
• Prepare engineering designs, technical reports and construction documentation
• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies
• Coordinate with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams
• Manage project timelines, resources, budgets and quality standards
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, legislation and environmental requirements
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
• Use Civil 3D for civil engineering design and modelling

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 7–10 years of civil engineering experience, preferably in renewable energy
• Experience in solar, wind and battery energy storage projects
• Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D
• Knowledge of soil mechanics, pavement design, hydraulics and stormwater management
• Strong project management, communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle

Qualification:

• BEng or BSc degree in Civil Engineering
• ECSA professional registration would be advantageous
