Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join a fully remote engineering team. You will conceptualize, design, and oversee complex civil infrastructure projects across water, wastewater, roads and stormwater systems from inception through construction.

You will lead project teams, liaise with clients and regulators, prepare technical reports, and ensure compliance with national and local standards. A PE license (ECSA) and 8+ years’ experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Master's degree in infrastructure or related field preferred.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive civil engineering experience.
• Experience in water, wastewater, roads and/or stormwater design.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and analysis of civil infrastructure projects for water, wastewater, roads and drainage.
• Develop detailed plans, specifications and cost estimates.
• Manage project lifecycles, schedule, budget and quality standards.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for new developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and analysis of civil infrastructure projects, including water supply networks, wastewater systems, road design, and urban drainage.
• Develop detailed engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates for infrastructure projects.
• Manage project lifecycles, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to stringent quality standards.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for potential new infrastructure developments.
• Oversee and review the work of junior engineers and technical staff.
• Liaise effectively with clients, government agencies, utility companies, and other stakeholders to secure approvals and ensure project success.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and local engineering standards, building codes, and environmental regulations.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance during the construction phase, resolving design-related issues.
• Stay current with advancements in civil engineering technology, software, and sustainable design practices.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for clients and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution; Master's degree specializing in infrastructure or related field preferred.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on infrastructure design and project management.
• Proven experience in the design of water, wastewater, roads, and/or stormwater systems.
• Proficiency in relevant civil engineering design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, or similar.
• Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and geotechnical principles related to infrastructure.
• Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team setting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience with sustainable infrastructure design principles is a plus.
