Job summary

Assegai Recruitment (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead infrastructure and site development design packages, including bulk earthworks, water, sewer, and drainage, across regional offices.

You will deliver BIM-enabled projects using Civil 3D, guide multi-disciplinary teams, contribute to proposals, and maintain design quality while balancing commercial objectives; willingness to travel across SA, Africa and Europe.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr Eng.
• Approximately eight or more years of relevant consulting design experience.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and BIM-enabled project delivery.
• Ability to lead teams and collaborate across regions.

• Maintain design quality while considering commercial objectives and project delivery requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr Eng.
• Approximately eight or more years of relevant consulting engineering design experience, with demonstrated capability also considered.
• Experience in civil infrastructure and site development projects.
• Proficiency in relevant design codes, Civil 3D and BIM-enabled project delivery.
• Strong technical judgement, commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery requirements.
• Ability to lead teams and collaborate across disciplines and regions.
• Willingness to support projects across South Africa, Africa and Europe.

Additional experience

Exposure to bulk water infrastructure, water or wastewater treatment works, flood risk, hydrology or dam-related projects would be valuable. Data centre project experience is highly desirable.
