About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead infrastructure and construction projects in Pretoria. This role demands a proactive approach to design, planning, and execution of civil engineering works, ensuring compliance with all relevant engineering standards and regulations. You will be responsible for managing project lifecycles, from feasibility studies and detailed design to construction supervision and project closeout. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent leadership qualities, and a proven ability to manage complex projects and teams effectively within the Gauteng province. You will contribute significantly to the development of critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, water systems, and drainage infrastructure.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and prepare detailed engineering reports and specifications.
• Oversee the construction phase of projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and construction plans.
• Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• BSc or BEng in Civil Engineering, registered as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with ECSA.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in civil engineering design and project management.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, structural analysis tools).
• Strong understanding of local building codes, standards, and environmental regulations in Pretoria.
