Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architecture or Urban Design.
• Minimum 8 years' professional experience, with a focus on public sector/infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience leading civic buildings and public amenities.
• Understanding of public procurement processes and stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in architectural design software (Revit/AutoCAD/SketchUp).
• Professional registration with SACAP is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design and planning of diverse public infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with municipal authorities, government agencies, and community groups throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop design concepts that are functional, aesthetically pleasing, sustainable, and responsive to community needs.
• Ensure all designs adhere to public sector procurement standards, building codes, and accessibility regulations in Bloemfontein.
• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and presentation materials.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and consultant coordination, often in a Hybrid work setting.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site analyses for potential public infrastructure developments.
• Mentor junior architects and contribute to the firm's expertise in public architecture.
• Stay informed about best practices in public space design, civic architecture, and community engagement.
• Oversee construction administration for public projects, ensuring quality and compliance.
