The role requires a PhD/0r MSc in Chemical Engineering with 10+ years in chemical plant operations, strong analytics, and proficiency in Aspen Plus. A Pr.Eng designation is essential for this senior leadership position in Durban.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering is required.
• 10+ years in chemical plant operations, process engineering and optimization.
• Expertise in APC, SPC and data analytics.
• Experience with process modeling and Aspen Plus.
• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) designation is required.

Responsabilités

• Lead optimization of existing chemical production processes for efficiency, yield, and cost reduction.
• Develop and implement advanced process control strategies and data analytics for stability and product consistency.
• Perform root cause analyses for production upsets and implement corrective actions.
• Manage major process improvement projects, delivering on time and within budget.
• Provide expert technical consultation to operations and engineering teams on process issues.
• Maintain process documentation (P&IDs, mass/energy balances, procedures).
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and collaborate with R&D for scale-up and commercialization.
• Ensure compliance with EHS policies and regulatory standards.
