Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Chemical Engineer with project management experience to lead and deliver chemical engineering projects in Midrand, Gauteng. You will oversee scope, budget, and schedule, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and liaising with clients to ensure quality outcomes.

The role requires a bachelor's or master's in chemical engineering, at least six years in the field and three years in PM roles, with strong knowledge of PMP principles and project management software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in chemical engineering, with at least 3 years in project management roles.
• Proven track record in managing complex engineering projects from initiation to closure.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP principles).
• Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera).
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage cross-functional teams and client expectations.
• Solid technical knowledge of chemical processes, plant design, and construction.
• Problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Responsabilités

• Lead and manage chemical engineering projects, overseeing scope, budget, schedule, and resources.
• Develop detailed project plans, including defining objectives, deliverables, milestones, and timelines.
• Coordinate and collaborate with internal engineering disciplines, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Manage client relationships, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases of projects.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
• Prepare and present project status reports to clients and senior management.
• Manage project documentation and ensure accurate record-keeping.
