Placements24 seeks a dynamic Project Engineer to lead capital projects in our chemical operations in Sandton. You will oversee planning, execution, and delivery from initiation to completion, ensuring scope, budget, and schedule compliance while collaborating with cross-functional teams and external contractors.

This hybrid position offers leadership of significant initiatives with a flexible work arrangement and exposure to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements across the project

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
5–8 years in project engineering or project management in the chemical industry.
Proven experience delivering projects from concept to completion within scope, budget, and schedule.
Strong understanding of engineering principles, PM methodologies, and construction practices.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Manage all phases of capital projects from scope to close-out.
Develop detailed schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers.
Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety, and environmental regulations.
Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigations.
Prepare regular status reports for senior management.
