Job summary

Placements24 in Rustenburg, a dynamic corporate and event catering company, seeks an experienced Catering Operations Manager to oversee all catering services from client consultation through to event completion.

You will lead event coordinators, service teams and kitchen staff, implement SOPs, optimise logistics, manage budgets and KPIs, ensure health and safety compliance, and maintain peak quality, service and presentation across diverse events.

Qualifications

• Relevant hospitality or business qualification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in catering or event management roles.
• Experience budgeting and cost control in events.
• Strong leadership and delegation abilities.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Solid client relationship and negotiation skills.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of all catering events with focus on efficiency and client satisfaction.
• Manage and coordinate catering staff, event coordinators, service teams, and kitchen support.
• Develop and implement operational procedures and standards to enhance service quality and efficiency.
• Handle venue coordination, equipment rental, transportation, and setup/breakdown.
• Control costs, manage budgets, and monitor KPIs to ensure profitability.
• Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and venue partners.
• Address client inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally and promptly.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations in catering operations.
• Conduct post-event evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
