Qualifications

• Nursing qualification (Enrolled or Registered Nurse) or extensive aged care leadership experience.
• Minimum 4 years in a supervisory role within healthcare or aged care.
• Proven ability to develop and manage care plans for elderly individuals.
• Strong geriatric care knowledge and safety protocols.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work flexible hours, including weekends/holidays, Durban location.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and mentor a team of caregivers, ensuring high-quality care delivery.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans for residents based on needs.
• Assess residents' health and well-being and report changes to healthcare professionals.
• Oversee daily activities including medication management, personal care, and social programs.
• Ensure adherence to facility policies, procedures and healthcare regulations.
• Manage staff scheduling, performance reviews, and ongoing professional development.
• Liaise with residents' families, providing updates with empathy and professionalism.
• Maintain a safe, clean and comfortable living environment for residents.
• Act as contact for medical emergencies and coordinate responses.
