Placements24 is seeking an experienced Elderly Care Specialist to lead care initiatives for seniors in George, Western Cape. The role focuses on delivering dignified, personalized support and shaping care strategies in a supportive environment.

The candidate should have 4+ years in elderly care, with supervisory experience, and strong communication with clients and families. A Western Cape residency is preferred, with opportunities for training and career advancement.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Nursing, Social Work, Gerontology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience working with the elderly, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or specialist role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of common health conditions affecting older adults.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and families.

Responsibilities

• Assess the physical, emotional, and social needs of elderly clients.
• Develop, implement, and regularly review personalized care plans.
• Coordinate and oversee the delivery of care services, ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Provide direct support and assistance with daily living activities where necessary.
• Manage a team of care assistants, providing guidance, training, and supervision.
• Liaise with families, medical professionals, and other community services to ensure holistic care.
• Maintain accurate client records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality.
• Identify and address any risks or concerns related to client safety and well-being.
• Organize social and recreational activities to promote client engagement and quality of life.
• Uphold the dignity and rights of all clients in our George facility.
