Job summary

Placements24 is seeking Elder Care Support Workers to provide essential care and companionship to seniors in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. You will assist with daily living activities, support emotional wellbeing and maintain a safe, dignified living environment for clients within the Mossel Bay community.

Ideal candidates are empathetic, reliable, and possess strong interpersonal skills to connect with seniors and their families.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant healthcare certification preferred.
Proven experience providing direct care to the elderly in home or facility settings.
Understanding of physical and emotional needs of older adults.
Excellent observational and interpersonal communication skills.
Reliability, punctuality and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
Assist with mobility, transfers and ambulation as needed.
Administer medication reminders under supervision.
Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding when required.
Perform light housekeeping to keep a safe living environment.
Engage clients in social activities to support mental wellbeing.
Monitor health status and report changes to supervisor.
Provide companionship and emotional support.
Accompany clients to appointments or outings as needed.
Maintain confidential client records and logs.
