Job summary

CF & I Consulting in Cape Town is seeking a Senior Associate Developer to join the IT team. The role focuses on C#/.NET development and modernisation of a logistics platform, spanning legacy VB.NET to modern .NET technologies.

You will design architecture, own development standards, and drive solutions through the lifecycle with strong DevOps and collaboration with stakeholders. This is a hands-on senior position requiring leadership in complex production scenarios.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' relevant software development experience.
• Strong C# and .NET development experience.
• Experience across .NET Framework and modern .NET/Core.
• Proven experience modernising or migrating legacy applications.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles and development standards.
• Seasoned Azure DevOps experience.
• Advanced SQL Server experience including performance optimisation.
• Experience with ASP.NET MVC, Web API and IIS.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting and production support capability.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing and maintaining enterprise applications using C# and .NET.
• Modernising legacy VB.NET, .NET Framework and Windows Services into modern C#/.NET solutions.
• Designing application architecture and applying appropriate software development principles and patterns.
• Developing and maintaining ASP.NET MVC, APIs and IIS-hosted applications.
• Working extensively with Microsoft SQL Server, including stored procedures, functions, indexing, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Using Azure DevOps for source control, branching, pull requests, pipelines, builds and deployments.
• Supporting CI/CD and automated testing practices.
• Troubleshooting production issues, performing root‑cause analysis and implementing sustainable solutions.
• Working closely with developers, business stakeholders and other technical teams.
