Job summary

Boardroom Appointments seeks a seasoned .NET Developer in Cape Town with 5+ years of development experience. You will work with .NET Framework/.NET Core, C#, ASP.NET MVC and MSSQL.

Exposure to Azure is beneficial and a strong understanding of agile processes is expected. You will own stories from design to deployment, ensure code quality through reviews and testing, and collaborate with the team to resolve issues and improve the reference architecture.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in .NET stack and SQL Server required.
• Experience with C#, ASP.NET MVC and .NET Core beneficial.
• Azure knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Display adequate proficiency in required technology stack.
• Attend to technical implementation issues.
• Ensure familiarity with project reference architecture; identify gaps and update.
• Transfer technical and agile process knowledge to team members.
• Ensure tickets are up to date and moved through statuses with comments.
• Take ownership of stories, tasks and related development activities.
• Manage assigned story and task statuses, comments and updates from start to finish.
• Ensure pull requests are reviewed and changes deployed to test environment as expected.
• Pro-actively follow up with QA to ensure work is complete and bugs addressed.
• Adhere to good technical practices: unit testing, integration testing, DI, monitoring and logging
• Identify practices that aren't effective and suggest changes
• Review pull requests as highest priority and participate by commenting
• Deploy approved changes to target environments.
• Own the build and release configuration or process.
• Fix builds broken as a result of your pull requests
• Execute development tasks per Technical Lead/Architect's solution and planning
• Where required take responsibility for defining the solution for a feature
