Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Control and Instrumentation Engineer in South Africa. The successful candidate will lead C&I design efforts, manage budgets and timelines, and provide technical guidance across projects in Cape Town or Midrand.

This role requires strong leadership, communication and hands‑on experience with PLC/DCS and SCADA systems. The ideal candidate has a degree in Electrical Engineering, professional registration with ECSA, and at least 10 years of C&I experience.

Qualifications

• A BEng/BSc/BTech degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer or Technologist with ECSA.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in C&I engineering.
• Project management including budgeting and scheduling.
• Familiarity with SANS 10142, GCC, NEC, JBCC, FIDIC.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Revit and BIM360/ACC/ProjectWise.
• In-depth knowledge of PLC/DCS and SCADA/HMI systems.
• Experience with industrial network design and integration interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Formulate detailed C&I designs and oversee engineering staff.
• Propose budgets and establish timelines for C&I projects.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to deliver complete client solutions.
• Develop and deliver C&I project presentations and tender deliverables.
• Oversee commissioning quality assurance and inspections.
• Identify opportunities for new projects and process improvements.
