Job summary

Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer - Capital Projects to manage end-to-end CAPEX procurement for complex capital projects in the JHB East Rand. You will ensure governance, cost-effective sourcing and timely delivery while supporting project managers and end users.

The role requires 3–5 years in CAPEX purchasing, 2 years in technical purchasing, and strong SAP/Microsoft Office skills. You will coordinate RFQs, negotiate terms, and drive cost savings in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Completed Matric qualification.
• NQF Level 5 qualification in Supply Chain Management or Procurement.
• 3-5 years’ experience in a CAPEX purchasing environment.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a technical purchasing environment.
• Sound understanding of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
• Knowledge of CAPEX purchasing processes and cost drivers.
• Technical purchasing knowledge related to capital projects.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Email and Word.
• Experience with SAP.
• Strong analytical, planning and organising skills.
• Ability to identify and solve problems.
• Strong procurement and supplier management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Commercial and contract management skills.
• Strong negotiation and cost-saving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Process CAPEX purchase requisitions and purchase orders in line with policies.
• Validate pricing, quotations and contract terms before POs.
• Ensure procurement transactions are completed accurately and on time.
• Resolve supplier and invoicing queries promptly.
• Support commercial evaluation and sourcing activities.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings through supplier negotiations.
• Coordinate RFQ processes for capital projects.
• Serve as first contact for CAPEX sourcing requests.
• Issue POs per contract terms and conditions.
• Monitor outstanding POs and expedite deliveries.
• Provide updates to Project Managers on order status.

A leading precious metals refining company is looking for an experienced Senior Buyer - Capital Projects with strong experience in CAPEX procurement and technical purchasing to join their team in the JHB East Rand on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will manage end-to-end procurement activities for capital projects, ensuring cost-effective sourcing and purchasing while maintaining procurement governance, compliance and service levels.

Responsibilities

• Process CAPEX purchase requisitions and purchase orders in line with procurement policies and procedures.
• Validate pricing, quotations, commercial terms and contract conditions before issuing purchase orders.
• Ensure procurement transactions are completed accurately and within agreed service levels.
• Resolve purchasing, supplier, invoice and creditor queries timeously.
• Support commercial evaluation processes and sourcing activities.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and cost avoidance through supplier negotiations.
• Coordinate and facilitate RFQ processes for capital projects.
• Serve as the first point of contact for CAPEX sourcing requests.
• Ensure purchase orders are issued in accordance with approved contract terms and conditions.
• Monitor outstanding purchase orders and expedite deliveries.
• Provide regular updates to Project Managers and end users regarding order status and delivery timelines.
