About the Role

Our client, a leading engineering firm with significant capital investment projects, requires a skilled Procurement Specialist to manage the acquisition of capital equipment in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, ZA . This is a fixed-term contract role, requiring your expertise on-site to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of complex machinery and technology. You will be responsible for managing the entire procurement lifecycle for capital goods, from defining specifications and identifying suppliers to negotiating contracts and overseeing delivery and installation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of technical specifications, complex procurement processes, and experience working with large capital expenditure budgets. This role is crucial for the successful execution of major projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for capital equipment, including planning, sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
• Develop detailed specifications and technical requirements for capital equipment in collaboration with engineering and project management teams.
• Identify, evaluate, and select qualified suppliers and vendors for capital equipment purchases.
• Lead complex negotiations with suppliers to achieve the best possible pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
