Job summary

Stellenbosch University is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst (Post Level 8) for the Stellenbosch Campus. The role acts as liaison between Product Owners and software vendors, translating requirements to support business processes and bridging business needs with technical solutions.

The incumbent will work in an Agile environment, refine requirements, support testing, and assist in system design and documentation to ensure feasible, scalable solutions aligned with institutional strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems with 5+ years in business systems analysis OR
• NQF 6 with 8+ years in business systems analysis
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and SDLC
• Experience in higher education systems implementations and support
• Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs into user stories with acceptance criteria and detailed specifications
• Refine backlog and prepare items for sprint planning in collaboration with the PO
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to refine requirements during sprints
• Assess impacts of changes on existing systems and workflows
• Develop and maintain system diagrams, data flow models, and interface documentation
