Rainbow Chicken in Rustenburg is seeking an experienced Broiler Production Manager to lead and optimise broiler operations for the Rustenburg Farms. The role focuses on delivering the right quality birds at the right time while minimising costs and ensuring operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will have a degree or diploma in Agriculture, at least seven years in a similar environment with five in management, and a willingness to relocate to Rustenburg to oversee regional production.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Agriculture is required.
• 7 years relevant experience in a similar environment, 5 of which should be in a management capacity.
• Willingness to relocate and reside in Rustenburg.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain systems for receiving broilers across the region.
• Establish and maintain updated ISO systems for the operation.
• Oversee the placement and catching of chickens.
• Meet and exceed set Broiler KPIs.
• Liaise with agricultural planners to ensure alignment of operations.
• Monitor compliance with best operating practices for stockmanship to ensure optimum bird health across the region.
• Monitor stock health and inform the Agricultural Executive and the Vet promptly.
• Input into operational targets and monitor cost centre performance.
• Conduct weekly operations meetings to address challenges and plan for future optimal production.
• Manage the supply of services and products to farm managers.
• Oversee regional systems and procedures.
• Oversee services contracts and performance against standards.
• Formulate and manage the cost centre budget and meet financial targets.
• Manage fixed and operational assets for optimal use.
• Oversee procurement and stores requisitions within thresholds.
• Oversee regional diesel and coal usage against benchmarks.
• Manage the housing register.
• Ensure full SHERQ compliance and a safe working environment.
• Implement Bio Security measures and drive compliance with best practices.
• Ensure environmentally sustainable practices and efficient resource use.
• Work with auditors to address non-compliance.
• Establish accurate data management and daily reporting to the Agricultural Executive.
• Provide regional management support during recruitment and staff development.
• Conduct regular farm visits and performance appraisals.
• Support succession planning and employee relations development.
• Maintain an active capability for staff training and multi-disciplinary knowledge transfer.
• Conduct weekly meetings and maintain action plans and records.
• Ensure adherence to labour laws and company policy.
