Job summary

Network Finance in South Africa is seeking an experienced bookkeeper to manage the full accounting function up to trial balance. You will handle AP/AR/GL, journals, accruals, and reconciliations, and support month-end and year-end reporting.

The role requires VAT knowledge and proficiency with Syspro or a similar ERP system, ensuring data integrity and timely financial schedules. A degree in Accounting is preferred, with 3–5 years' relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full bookkeeping function, ensuring accurate financial records up to trial balance.
• Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger transactions, journals, and accruals.
• Perform monthly bank, supplier, and general ledger reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Prepare and assist with VAT submissions and ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and calculate depreciation.
• Support cash flow monitoring, budgeting, and other financial planning activities.
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation and financial schedules.
• Maintain the integrity of financial data and ensure compliance with established accounting procedures.
• Identify discrepancies and contribute to improving the accuracy and efficiency of accounting processes.

Minimum Requirements

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Demonstrable experience managing the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance.
• Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger reconciliations, and journal processing.
• Practical experience with VAT, month-end procedures, and financial reporting.
• Experience using Syspro or a similar ERP/accounting system.
