Placements24 is seeking a Senior Blockchain Solutions Architect to design scalable, secure blockchain architectures across multiple industries. You will lead smart contract development, assess technologies, and drive secure deployment of blockchain solutions.

The role is based in Johannesburg with a hybrid work model, offering collaboration with product managers, engineers, and analysts to translate complex requirements into robust architectures and roadmap plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years in software architecture and design, with at least 3 years focused on blockchain technology.
• Proven experience in designing and deploying smart contracts using Solidity or other relevant languages.
• In-depth knowledge of blockchain protocols and consensus mechanisms.
• Familiarity with dApp development and tools (Web3.js, Truffle, Hardhat).
• Strong understanding of cryptography, data structures, and distributed systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of enterprise-grade blockchain solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Architect and implement smart contracts on Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, and other platforms.
• Evaluate and select appropriate blockchain technologies and frameworks based on project requirements.
• Collaborate with development teams to oversee implementation and deployment of blockchain solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and architects.
• Develop PoCs and prototypes to validate new blockchain concepts and use cases.
• Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments for blockchain applications.
