Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Blockchain Engineer to join our fintech client in Vereeniging, Gauteng. You will design, build, and optimize robust backend services, integrate with Ethereum, Polygon, and private networks, and ensure scalability and security of our platform.

You will work with cross-functional teams, develop Go, Python, or Node.js backends, create microservices and REST APIs, manage databases (SQL/NoSQL), and stay updated on blockchain advances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional backend development experience.
• At least 3 years of experience working with blockchain technologies and integrating backend systems with blockchains.
• Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Go, Python, Node.js, or Java.
• Experience with building and deploying microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of blockchain concepts, including transactions, consensus mechanisms, and smart contracts.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
