Placements24, a Centurion-based R&D firm focused on blockchain analytics, seeks a Senior Blockchain Data Scientist. Analyze large blockchain datasets, build predictive models, and develop data-driven solutions within the Crypto & Blockchain ecosystem.

You will design data pipelines, apply ML techniques, visualize findings, and collaborate with engineers to embed insights into blockchain applications. The role is hybrid in Gauteng with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in data science or related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of professional data science experience.
• Proven blockchain data analysis experience, including on-chain transactions.
• Proficiency in Python or R and data science libraries.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau/Matplotlib/Seaborn.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale blockchain datasets to identify trends and anomalies.
• Develop and implement ML models for fraud detection, market prediction, and behavior analysis.
• Design and build data pipelines for blockchain data extraction, transformation and loading.
• Communicate findings using data visualization to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with blockchain developers to integrate data-driven features into dApps.
• Stay updated on advanced analytical techniques applicable to blockchain data.
• Evaluate tools and technologies for data analysis and modeling.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security in analytical processes.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the team's knowledge base.
