Placements24, a Centurion-based R&D firm focused on blockchain analytics, seeks a Senior Blockchain Data Scientist. Analyze large blockchain datasets, build predictive models, and develop data-driven solutions within the Crypto & Blockchain ecosystem.

You will design data pipelines, apply ML techniques, visualize findings, and collaborate with engineers to embed insights into blockchain applications. The role is hybrid in Gauteng with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in data science or related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of professional data science experience.
• Proven blockchain data analysis experience, including on-chain transactions.
• Proficiency in Python or R and data science libraries.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau/Matplotlib/Seaborn.

Responsibilities

• Analyze large-scale blockchain datasets to identify trends and anomalies.
• Develop and implement ML models for fraud detection, market prediction, and behavior analysis.
• Design and build data pipelines for blockchain data extraction, transformation and loading.

Requirements

• Proven experience in analyzing blockchain data, including on-chain transaction analysis.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and relevant data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data mining techniques.
• Familiarity with blockchain technologies and concepts.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
