Placements24 seeks a Senior Data Scientist to lead the development and deployment of advanced analytical solutions for Biomedical Applications in Polokwane. You will collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and engineers to extract insights from clinical and genomic data and drive improvements in diagnostics and treatment strategies.

The role requires 5+ years of experience in data science, expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and proficiency in Python or R, plus SQL.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in data science, with a focus on biomedical or healthcare applications.
• Proficiency in machine learning techniques, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics.
• Python or R and experience with data science libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with large-scale data manipulation and SQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy predictive models and machine learning algorithms for biomedical data analysis, including patient stratification and outcome prediction.
• Design and execute complex data mining and statistical analysis on large-scale clinical and genomic datasets.
• Collaborate with domain experts to define analytical requirements and translate business needs into data science solutions.
• Build robust data pipelines and ensure the quality, integrity, and accessibility of data for analysis.
• Communicate complex findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and their applications in the biomedical field.
