Qualifications

• PhD required in a relevant field.
• 5-7 years post-doctoral or industry experience in biologics development.
• Proven cell line development and bioprocess experience.
• Experience with analytical techniques: HPLC, MS, ELISA, SPR.
• GMP knowledge a plus.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and optimization of mammalian cell lines for protein production.
• Develop upstream bioprocesses for high yields and quality.
• Characterize therapeutic proteins using biophysical and biochemical methods.
• Execute product characterization, stability, and comparability studies.
• Troubleshoot complex biologics development challenges.
• Collaborate with downstream process development scientists for integrated processes.
• Contribute to CMC sections for regulatory filings.
• Mentor junior scientists and foster collaborative environment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations in the Vereeniging lab.
