About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior BIM Coordinator to spearhead their digital construction initiatives. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be instrumental in establishing and managing Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across all civil infrastructure projects, ensuring seamless collaboration and data integrity. Your expertise will drive efficiency, reduce clashes, and enhance project outcomes through advanced digital workflows. This role requires a proactive individual with a deep understanding of BIM technologies and their application in large-scale civil engineering projects. You will collaborate closely with project teams, consultants, and contractors globally, leveraging cutting-edge digital tools to deliver exceptional results. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce BIM standards, protocols, and workflows for civil infrastructure projects.
• Lead and manage the BIM execution plan (BEP) throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate BIM models from various disciplines (structural, architectural, MEP, civil) to identify and resolve clashes.
• Train and mentor project teams on BIM software and best practices.
• Ensure the accuracy, quality, and integrity of BIM models and associated data.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate BIM into all project phases, from design to construction and handover.
• Manage and maintain BIM project libraries and templates.
• Conduct regular model reviews and quality assurance checks.
• Stay abreast of the latest BIM technologies and industry trends, recommending improvements and innovations.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among project stakeholders through BIM platforms.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in BIM coordination, with a strong focus on civil infrastructure projects.
• Proven expertise in using BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, and Infraworks.
• In-depth understanding of BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650) and their practical application.
• Experience in developing and implementing BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
• Strong knowledge of clash detection and model federation techniques.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, essential for remote team management.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
• Experience with 4D (scheduling) and 5D (cost estimation) BIM is a significant advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
