Job summary

QE Services IT Recruitment is assisting a client in Cape Town, Constantia, to hire a BI Developer on a permanent basis. The role centers on designing, developing and maintaining end-to-end BI solutions, including ETL processes, data warehousing, and dashboards.

Expect hands-on work with SQL Server, SSIS, Power BI, and Qlik Sense/QlikView, plus data modelling and collaboration with business stakeholders to drive insights and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a BI Developer / BI Analyst Developer.
• Advanced SQL development and database querying skills.
• Proven ETL development, data integration and data transformation experience.
• Strong experience with Power BI or Qlik BI tools.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing principles and dimensional modelling.
• Experience in financial services, asset management, investments, or related industries.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document business and reporting requirements from stakeholders.
• Design, develop and maintain end-to-end BI solutions across the full technology stack.
• Build and maintain robust ETL processes to extract, transform and load data from multiple source systems.
• Develop and enhance data warehouse solutions to support reporting and business intelligence initiatives.
• Create and maintain a centralised, trusted source of business data.
• Design relational and dimensional data models that support reporting and analytics requirements.
• Develop reports, dashboards and visualisations that provide meaningful business insights.
• Analyse data trends and identify opportunities to improve business processes and operational efficiency.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity and consistency across BI platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to deliver scalable and sustainable BI solutions.
• Provide mentorship, guidance and technical support to junior team members.
• Contribute to BI strategy, continuous improvement initiatives and best practices.
