Job summary

BluePearl Consulting is seeking an outstanding Senior BI Developer with banking experience to join a Corporate and Investment Banking analytics team in Rosebank, Johannesburg. You will lead BI reporting, data modelling and ETL initiatives, delivering high-quality dashboards and data solutions for stakeholders.

The role requires strong Power BI, Dataflows, SQL and ETL skills, with a proactive, self-driven approach and professional banking environment experience.

Qualifications

• Proven banking industry experience is essential.
• Senior BI Developer/senior BI role experience required.
• Hands-on Power BI experience.
• Experience with Dataflows, ETL and SQL.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong ownership, accountability and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Available to work onsite in Rosebank ~3 days/week.
• Available to commence on 1 January 2027.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain BI dashboards, reports and data visualisations using Power BI.
• Develop and manage dataflows to support reliable and efficient reporting solutions.
• Build, maintain and optimise ETL processes to support data extraction, transformation and loading.
• Write, troubleshoot and optimise SQL queries to support reporting and data analysis requirements.
• Translate business reporting requirements into practical, accurate and scalable BI solutions.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, integrity and quality across reports and dashboards.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand reporting needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
• Manage assigned deliverables independently, taking accountability for quality, timelines and outcomes.
• Communicate progress, risks, technical findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
• Maintain professional conduct and presentation appropriate to a corporate banking environment.
