Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a Principal Specialist BI Architecture to lead data governance, quality, and analytics platforms within a large-scale environment. You will coordinate data management policies, oversee BI backend systems, and guide architectural decisions for scalable data services.

The role requires extensive analytics/data/technology experience, BI development and architecture expertise, and a strong focus on cloud technologies and cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

• Post Graduate qualification in information technology or related field.
• 10 years experience in an analytics/data/technology environment (Principal)
• 8 years experience in an analytics/data/technology environment (Intermediate)
• 5 years experience in an analytics/data/technology environment (Junior)
• 5 years BI Development experience in an enterprise environment
• 5 years BI Solution Architecture experience
• Experience working with cloud technologies will be advantageous
• Understanding of the architecture frameworks, analytics platforms and data structures used in MultiChoice

Responsibilities

• Implement best practices in data management, governance, and analytics to ensure the accuracy, security, and usability of the data.
• Ensure governance policies are in place to protect sensitive information.
• Deploy analytics tools and platforms that enable the business to extract insights from data and make informed decisions.
• Maintain, support, and enhance the BI data backend, including data warehouses.
• Formulate and recommend standards for maximum performance and efficiency of the data warehouse ecosystem.
• Participate in agile delivery processes and collaborate with business advisory for prioritisation of objectives.
• Provide input to architectural decision making and contribute to micro-service platforms and interfaces.
• Provide on-the-job training and technical training to team members and external stakeholders
