At M-KOPA, a fully remote Senior Backend Engineer will build and operate distributed C#/.NET microservices on Azure, driving AI-native engineering practices across a globally distributed team. You will own end-to-end delivery—from idea through deployment and production—shaping scalable financial inclusion products for Africa.

You’ll work in an outcomes-driven role, collaborating across UK, Europe, and Africa, using modern observability tools and event-driven patterns to deliver value at scale.

Qualifications

• Strong grasp of C# and .NET development.
• Experience with event-driven systems using messaging tech (Azure Service Bus, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Microservices architecture experience on Azure/Kubernetes.
• Experience using observability tools to understand production behaviour.
• Comfort using AI tools as part of daily engineering workflow.
• DevOps culture mindset including on-call/production ownership.
• Ability to collaborate in distributed teams across time zones.
• Willingness to continuously learn and adapt.
