Placements24 in Randburg, Gauteng, is seeking a Senior Backend Blockchain Engineer to design, implement and scale robust distributed systems powering our blockchain solutions. You will build secure backend services, integrate networks, and develop APIs for DApps and internal systems.

The role requires strong skills in Go, Node.js, Python or Java, plus experience with SQL/NoSQL, cloud platforms, Docker and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure backend services for blockchain applications.
Implement and optimize core blockchain functionalities and protocols.
Integrate blockchain networks with various data sources and external services.
Develop and manage APIs for seamless interaction with decentralized applications and internal systems.
Write efficient, testable, and well-documented code using languages like Go, Node.js, or Python.
Collaborate with front-end developers, smart contract engineers, and product managers to deliver robust solutions.
Ensure the performance, reliability, and security of backend systems.
Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
Stay informed about the latest advancements in blockchain technology and backend engineering.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments.
