About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned and highly skilled Senior Avionics Technician to join their forward-thinking team, operating in a remote capacity based out of Mossel Bay . This role involves the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of complex avionics systems on a variety of aircraft. You will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation of flight control, navigation, communication, and other critical electronic systems. This position requires a self-starter with exceptional technical expertise and the ability to manage projects remotely, ensuring the highest standards of safety and performance are met for our client's sophisticated fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test advanced avionics systems, including navigation, communication, autopilot, and flight management systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electronic and electrical malfunctions using sophisticated diagnostic equipment and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of avionics components to ensure accuracy and operational reliability.
• Interpret and adhere to avionics technical manuals , wiring diagrams, and maintenance directives.
• Ensure all installations and repairs strictly comply with aviation regulations and manufacturer specifications.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and collaborate effectively with flight crews and engineering departments.

Requirements

• Hold a valid avionics technician certification or equivalent qualification, with a strong educational background in electronics or aviation technology.
• A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience as an Avionics Technician , with significant exposure to modern aircraft avionics suites.
• Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repairing complex electronic systems, including analog and digital circuits.
• Proficiency in using specialized avionics test equipment and diagnostic software.
• Deep understanding of flight safety principles and airworthiness standards .
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and effectively in a remote setting.
