Placements24 is seeking an accomplished Aircraft Electrical Systems Engineer to join a leading aviation MRO/OEM team in Midrand, Gauteng. You will design, test, and certify electrical systems for diverse aircraft, ensuring reliability, safety, and EMC compliance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in aircraft electricals, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD Electrical, SOLIDWORKS Electrical), and knowledge of ARINC/MIL-STD data buses. A robust aviation regulation background is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft electrical systems engineering, preferably within an MRO or OEM environment.
In-depth knowledge of aircraft electrical power generation, distribution, and control systems.
Experience with avionics systems integration, including data buses (e.g., ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553).
Proficiency in using electrical CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, SOLIDWORKS Electrical) and simulation tools.
Understanding of aviation regulations and certification processes (SACAA, EASA).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
Excellent technical writing and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement electrical system modifications and upgrades for aircraft.
Perform detailed analysis of electrical systems, including power loads, signal integrity, and EMC.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and avionics system malfunctions during maintenance and repair activities.
Develop test procedures and conduct functional tests for newly installed or repaired electrical systems.
Prepare technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, schematics, engineering reports, and certification data.
Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, standards, and company policies.
Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and maintenance crews to ensure seamless project execution.
Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance technicians on electrical system issues.
Evaluate new electrical components and technologies for potential integration into aircraft systems.
Participate in safety reviews and contribute to safety assurance of aircraft electrical systems.
