Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Software Engineer for a fully remote role based in Port Elizabeth. You will design, develop and deploy embedded software for automotive control units, collaborating with hardware teams to define interfaces and requirements.
Lead algorithm optimization for powertrain, safety, and infotainment, while participating in code reviews, architecture design, and QA processes. A strong SDLC and agile background is required.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional experience in automotive software development, with a focus on embedded systems.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols like CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
- Experience with SDLC and agile methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy embedded software for automotive control systems.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to define software requirements and interfaces.
- Implement and optimize algorithms for powertrain control, safety systems, and infotainment.
- Participate in code reviews, software architecture design, and quality assurance processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software defects in development and production environments.
