Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive NVH Engineer for our Bloemfontein team to drive acoustic comfort and minimize noise and vibration in vehicle cabins. You will define NVH targets, perform analyses, and lead testing programs.

The role requires deep acoustics knowledge, vibration physics, and hands-on problem solving in a fast-growing automotive environment. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of automotive NVH experience, proficiency with leading NVH tools, and the ability to mentor

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics, Physics, or related field.
• 7+ years of automotive NVH engineering experience.
• Proficiency with NVH simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS Mechanical, Simcenter 3D, COMSOL).
• Experience with NVH measurement equipment and data acquisition systems (e.g., LMS, Bruel & Kjær).
• Strong understanding of acoustics, vibration theory, and modal analysis.
• Familiarity with vehicle architectures and the sources of noise and vibration.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in Bloemfontein setting.
• Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Define and cascade NVH targets for vehicle systems, including powertrain, chassis, and body structure.
• Conduct theoretical analysis and simulations of noise and vibration phenomena using specialized software.
• Plan, execute, and analyze experimental NVH testing using state-of-the-art measurement equipment.
• Identify root causes of NVH issues and develop effective engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to integrate NVH considerations early in the development process.
• Develop and validate predictive models for NVH performance.
• Work with suppliers to ensure components meet NVH specifications.
• Prepare comprehensive NVH reports and present findings and recommendations to project stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's NVH expertise.
• Stay current with advancements in NVH technology and methodologies.
