Job summary

Placements24 is hiring a Senior Automotive Data Scientist to join a fully remote team. You will leverage large datasets from connected vehicles, manufacturing, and customers to build predictive models and data-driven strategies across the automotive lifecycle.

The role emphasizes advanced ML, statistical modeling, and collaboration with product, engineering, and business stakeholders. A strong programming background in Python or R and experience deploying models in production are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in data science or machine learning, with automotive focus.
• Proficiency in Python or R and data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong SQL and database experience.
• Proven track record deploying ML models in production.
• Deep understanding of statistics, experimental design, and data mining.
• Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop) is a plus.
• Excellent data visualization skills (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and deploy advanced ML models on large automotive datasets.
• Extract, clean, transform, and integrate data from vehicle telematics, sensors, and customer databases.
• Design and conduct A/B tests and experiments to evaluate data-driven initiatives.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure for analysis and deployment.
• Collaborate with product, eng, and business to translate questions into data science projects.
• Communicate findings clearly through visualizations and presentations to diverse audiences.
• Stay at the forefront of data science and ML advancements in automotive tech.
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to best practices in a remote team.
• Ensure data privacy and security in all analytical processes.
• Identify new opportunities to apply data science to automotive problems.
