Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly analytical Data Scientist for a fully remote role in the automotive sector. You will leverage vast vehicle datasets to build predictive models, analyze driver behavior, and contribute to autonomous driving initiatives.

You will collaborate with engineering, product, and R&D teams to translate insights into actionable strategies, design experiments, and deploy models in production. A strong background in ML, statistics, and cloud platforms is required.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in automotive or related industries.
• Proficiency in Python or R and libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch.
• Strong SQL and database management experience.
• Experience with distributed computing frameworks like Spark.
• Solid knowledge of ML algorithms, statistical modeling, and experimental design.
• Excellent data visualization and communication skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a remote team.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and process large automotive datasets from sensors, telematics, and interactions.
• Develop, implement, and validate predictive models using machine learning and statistical techniques.
• Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to vehicle performance and driver behavior.
• Design and conduct A/B tests and other experiments to evaluate the impact of new features or algorithms.
• Collaborate virtually with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into data science problems.
• Develop dashboards and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and automotive technology.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of data infrastructure and pipelines.
• Build and deploy machine learning models into production environments.
