Job summary

LE Consult Group is seeking a Labour Law (HR/IR) Consultant to join as Senior Associate. The role focuses on labour law litigation, CCMA appearances, disciplinary hearings, drafting contracts and policies, and providing expert HR/IR advice.

The successful candidate will handle large client matters, stay updated on labour legislation, and build a client book across the Western Cape. Travel to clients is required.

Qualifications

• LLB degree required.
• Proven experience with CCMA appearances and disciplinary hearings.
• Strong understanding of South African labour legislation and employment standards.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to draft clear and comprehensive documentation, inclusive of the relevant legal dictionary.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Own reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients at CCMA proceedings and other tribunals (litigate and understand labour proceedings).
• Chair disciplinary hearings in accordance with legal requirements and practices.
• Draft outcomes of disciplinary hearings.
• Draft, review, and update employment contracts and policies.
• Assist clients in HR/IR capacity (draft warnings, training).
• Provide Labour Law advisory services to a large client-base with fast turn-around time.
• Assist in resolving employment disputes and grievances.
• Stay informed about changes in labour legislation and industry best practices.
• Manage clients risk by being pro-active.
• Prepare reports and documentation related to employment law cases.
• Collective Bargaining (Where applicable).
• Manage retrenchments and transfer of business processes in accordance with Labour Law.
• Assist head of department as required.
• Obtain new clientele and manage own client book.
• Manage your own calendar and ensure efficiency.
• Travel to clients within the Western Cape and, at times, in other provinces.

Labour Law (HR/IR) Consultant – Senior Associate

We are seeking a dedicated Labour Law / IR Consultant to join our team as Senior Associate (kindly be advised that this is a non-practising attorney position). The successful candidate will be responsible for labour law litigation, representing clients at CCMA appearances, conducting disciplinary hearings, drafting employment contracts, policies, and providing expert advice on labour law matters, amongst others.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients at CCMA proceedings and other tribunals (Candidate must be able to litigate and have a comprehensive understanding of labour proceedings)
• Chair disciplinary hearings in accordance with legal requirements and practices
