Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Associate General Counsel for its Benoni office to provide broad legal support across corporate governance, contracts, compliance, and litigation management. You will work with senior leadership and external counsel to protect the company’s interests in Gauteng.

The role requires admission as an attorney with at least 7 years’ experience in corporate law, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to handle complex matters under pressure.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 7 years of broad legal experience.
• Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience managing complex legal matters and advising senior management.
• Excellent analytical, research, and drafting skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise on governance, board resolutions, and regulatory compliance.
• Review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements.
• Oversee litigation and liaise with external legal teams.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
• Develop and implement company policies to ensure legal compliance.
