Job summary

Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced Branch Operations Manager for a leading roofing and building materials manufacturer in Nelspruit. The role covers manufacturing operations, production management, dispatch, stock control and sales, with full accountability for the day-to-day branch performance.

You will lead production, logistics and customer relationships, driving efficiency, protecting margins and growing the branch footprint.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in manufacturing, production management, branch management or operations management.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
• Experience managing staff across multiple operational functions.
• Demonstrated ability to improve productivity, control costs and achieve targets.
• Experience in sales, customer relationship management and business development.
• Strong leadership, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Good commercial awareness including cost control and budgeting.
• Experience with stock-management systems and operational reporting.
• Strong planning, organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding targets.
• Hands-on, proactive management approach.
• Experience in roofing/building materials industries is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production activities to achieve targets, quality and efficiency.
• Maximise output and machinery utilisation while minimising downtime and waste.
• Identify bottlenecks, investigate issues and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and ensure equipment is well-maintained.
• Manage dispatch operations to ensure accurate and timely deliveries.
• Coordinate stock availability, loading, transport and stock records.
• Drive sales growth and expand the branch's customer base.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, contractors and retailers.
• Prepare and follow up on quotations, orders and inquiries; resolve complaints.
• Achieve sales targets while protecting profit margins and branch profitability.
• Manage and motivate branch staff; set performance expectations.
• Monitor attendance, productivity and compliance with procedures.
• Promote teamwork, continuous improvement and performance-driven culture.
• Oversee branch admin, purchasing, reporting and financial controls.
• Monitor expenses, production costs, stock movements and outstanding accounts.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and adherence to policies.
