Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Architect with expertise in Urban Planning & Design to lead major urban development projects in Vereeniging, Gauteng. The role focuses on master plans, regeneration strategies, and large-scale mixed-use developments, guiding interdisciplinary teams.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in urban planning/design, strong policy understanding, and excellent communication and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Professional Architect qualification (PrArch) or equivalent is required.
• Master's degree in Urban Planning or Urban Design is highly advantageous.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in urban planning/design roles.

Responsabilités

• Lead the design and planning of significant urban development projects from concept to implementation.
• Develop urban design strategies, master plans, and feasibility studies.
• Collaborate with urban planners, landscape architects, engineers, and other specialists.
• Conduct site analysis, context studies, and stakeholder engagement processes.
• Ensure designs are contextually sensitive, socially inclusive, and environmentally sustainable.
• Prepare and present design proposals, reports, and visualisations to clients and public bodies.

You will be involved in developing master plans, urban regeneration strategies, and large-scale mixed-use developments.
