Job summary

Aggreko is seeking a Principal Application Engineering Manager in Kempton Park to lead senior technical solutions for power generation and renewable energy projects. The role acts as a key technical authority during pre‑sales, shaping concept and outline engineering for high‑value tenders and ensuring alignment with operational, safety, and financial standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Chartered Engineer status preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in power engineering and/or renewable energy applications.
• Strong technical knowledge of power generation equipment, energy storage systems, solar PV and related infrastructure.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally with resilience and cultural sensitivity in global environments.
• Experience managing complex inputs for large‑scale proposals and supporting pre‑sales/customer‑facing activities.
• Willingness to travel internationally, especially within Africa region.

Responsibilities

• Develop customer‑focused engineered solutions with Sales and Commercial teams.
• Lead concept development and outline engineering for tenders exceeding $10M USD.
• Provide technical expertise in customer meetings and training on new technologies.
• Collaborate with Project Engineering to validate and refine solutions and build local capability.
• Advise Commercial teams on technical bid components, specs, and costing inputs.
• Ensure all engineering deliverables meet safety, health and environmental standards.
