Job summary

Aggreko is seeking a Principal Application Engineer in Kempton Park, Africa. You’ll serve as a senior technical authority, translating customer requirements into engineered, commercially viable solutions for power generation and renewables.

You’ll lead concept development for high-value tenders and support pre-sales with deep technical expertise. You will collaborate across Sales, Project Engineering and Commercial teams, travel internationally within Africa, and ensure health, safety and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Chartered Engineer status preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in power engineering and/or renewable energy applications.
• Strong knowledge of power generation equipment, energy storage systems, and solar PV.
• Willingness to travel internationally, especially within Africa.

Responsibilities

• Develop customer-focused engineered solutions with Sales teams and application requirements.
• Lead concept development and outline engineering for complex enquiries and tenders over $10M USD.
• Provide technical expertise in customer meetings and technical sales training.
• Collaborate with Project Engineering to validate proposed solutions and build capability.
• Advise Commercial teams on technical bid components, material specs, and costing inputs.
• Ensure all deliverables meet safety, health, environmental, and operational standards.
