Job summary

Vodafone is seeking an experienced Application Operations professional to ensure an effective and efficient service with emphasis on Event Streaming within the DevOps & Application Operations Practices at Vodacom, Midrand Campus. You will troubleshoot issues, manage incidents and contribute to capacity planning in a 24/7 environment.

The role requires 2–3 years in Application Operations, cloud-native experience, and familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and AppDynamics.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 is essential.
• 2-3 years relevant experience in Application Operations.
• AWS certifications (DevOps / SysOps) are advantageous.
• ITIL certifications are advantageous.
• 2-3 years’ experience in Application Operations, including cloud-native environments.
• Experience in a 24/7 Application Support environment.
• Exposure to large, high-availability Enterprise platforms.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve application and system issues; develop solutions and document correction processes.
• Compile incident reports and conduct incident reviews; ensure permanent fixes for production problems.
• Maintain Operational Integrity Controls and oversee their adoption; ensure processes are implemented and documented.
• Interface with Vendors, Change Management, IT, and Customer Care to resolve operational changes or incidents.
• Plan and optimize change controls for system upgrades and configuration changes.
• Participate in acceptance and/or performance testing for a stable production environment.
• Input into capacity plans to ensure resources for future growth.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders, business partners and suppliers.
