Job summary

Tumaini Consulting is seeking a Senior Android Developer with deep payment-device experience to own technical delivery and security of Android-based payment solutions. Strong Kotlin and Java skills, plus hands-on EMV and device certification experience, are essential.

The role requires leading SoftPOS work, integrating hardware SDKs, and ensuring PCI/PTS compliance across development and testing cycles.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional Android development using Kotlin and Java.
• 6+ years of verifiable payment-device experience.
• 3+ years of payment hardware SDK integration.
• 2+ years' EMV Level 2 experience.
• At least one Visa CPA or Mastercard TQM certification cycle.
• PCI PTS/SSF experience in production device software.
• Security with secure element, Keystore or TrustZone.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for the Android payment-device stack.
• Develop and maintain production Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
• Lead SoftPOS development and related technical implementation.
• Integrate payment hardware via manufacturer SDKs and troubleshoot.
• Work with multiple payment devices (Urovo, PAX, Ingenico, Sunmi).
• Implement EMV Level 2 payment flows (contact and contactless).
• Own device certification activities and remediation processes.
• Produce architecture documentation and runbooks.
• Mentor the Mid-level Android Developer and aid succession planning.
