Job summary

Gridlines in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced model audit professional passionate about financial modelling and growth. You will analyse and review complex financial models to ensure robustness and reliability while collaborating with a team of modelling experts.

You will contribute to methodologies, document assumptions, and deliver high-quality modelling analyses for diverse clients across the financial sector.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of relevant experience in financial analysis within advisory or corporate setting.
• Good understanding of accounting concepts.
• Knowledge of project finance concepts.
• Strong analytical skills with experience building and operating financial models in Excel.
• Degree in a numerate discipline; postgraduate accounting/finance helpful.
• Experience with FAST financial modeling standard desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support model audit assignments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client expectations and industry standards.
• Use a mix of software checks and parallel model development to identify modelling errors.
• Take ownership of assignments and projects with initiative toward high-quality outcomes.
• Contribute to development and enhancement of financial modelling methodologies and tools.
• Prepare comprehensive model documentation detailing assumptions, methodologies, and results.
• Maintain meticulous records of modelling processes and methodologies.

You will work with a team of modelling professionals to analyse and review complex financial models, ensuring they are robust and reliable.

Requirements

Operations:

• Support financial model audit assignments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with both client expectations and industry standards
• Use a combination of software checks and parallel model development to identify modelling errors
• Take ownership of specific assignments and projects, demonstrating initiative and dedication to achieving high-quality outcomes
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of our financial modelling methodologies and tools, driving continuous improvement and innovation
• Prepare comprehensive model documentation detailing assumptions, methodologies, and results
• Maintain meticulous records of modelling processes and methodologies to uphold our high standards and ensure consistency
• Assist in developing project plans, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective project delivery
